The Newport Chemical Depot Reuse Authority (NeCDRA) is searching for an executive director to oversee the business development, redevelopment initiatives, and economic incentives and policy of the Vermillion Rise Mega Park, a 7,500-acre industrial park in west central Indiana. The position serves under the direction of the NeCDRA board.The position’s duties include:Advises all aspects of economic development and redevelopment issues affecting the Vermillion Rise Mega Park, including vision, goals and objectives.Manages economic development projects and property land use, including real estate and land development agreements.Implements NeCDRA economic development strategy, including business retention and expansion, business attraction, and business ombudsman/advocacy.Nurtures community, regional and state networks to enhance business development opportunities.Manages the NeCDRA master plan including land use, zoning, transportation studies; administers local planning, and transportation planning programs.Works cooperatively with jurisdictions within the county.Conducts regional water district studies; prepares and presents open space proposals.Oversees and approves the NeCDRA community engagement activities.Minimum qualifications include:Minimum three years in same or related field.Staff management experience.Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, urban planning, public policy or a related field and a minimum of direct experience associated with business development in areas such as commercial, manufacturing and industrial development, and/or experience in community planning in a municipal environment; or equivalent.Commercial real estate knowledge.Budget preparation and resource management experience.Seeks sources of funding including federal, state and local revenues; revenues from sale of credits; and revenue from land and building rentals and sales.A full position profile is available on the Vermillion Rise website. At least 36 people were killed and more than 100 injured in India on Saturday due to the massive earthquake that had its epicentre in Nepal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting on the situation and spoke with the chief ministers of the affected states. Though Nepal was the worst affected with over 900 dead, India was not spared, as 25 people were killed in Bihar, 8 in Uttar Pradesh and 3 in West Bengal.President Pranab Mukherjee wrote to the governors of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim, condoling the loss of lives. Modi held a high-level meeting with senior ministers and officials and spoke with the chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim and Madhya Pradesh.
