KSA outlines plans to tackle illegal games of chance

first_img Dutch gambling regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has outlined new proposals which would identify and tackle illegal land-based games of chance.The plans, which will come into force in 2020, will highlight the need to collaborate more local authorities across the Netherlands, having set targets to support authorities at least 50 times during the next 12 months – a marked increase on the 35 times during 2019.“As a supervisor, the KSA has the expertise to recognise illegal games of chance, for example in the form of gambling columns or illegal poker tournaments,” the KSA said in a statement.Supporting local authorities, the KSA will advise local authorities on preparing checks for illegal games of chance, while also committing to deploying its own inspectors to support officers.“As a supervisor, the KSA has the expertise to recognise illegal games of chance, for example in the form of gambling columns or illegal poker tournaments,” it added. “If desired, the Ksa can prepare an expert report that can be used for the investigation.”Last month, the KSA updated industry stakeholders on ‘provisional guidance’ relating to its licensing process, which is scheduled to officially open from 1 July 2020.It details guidance on core requirements sanctioned by its upcoming licensing process, reminding operators that applications will cost €45,000 each with no refund granted should an operator fail to secure a permit.From July 2020, applicants will be able to apply for four types of B2C licences – Casino Games, Sports Betting, Horseracing and P2P Casino Games (online poker). BiH Paralympic Team traveling to Rio today

first_imgThe sport delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is traveling to Rio de Janeiro today, where the 15th Paralympic Games will be held from September 7 until September 18.The BiH Paralympic team consists of 24 members, 14 of whom are athletes.At the official opening ceremony, the flag of BiH will be carried by Dženita Klico.The most decorated BiH national team – the sitting volleyball national team, will be fighting for the fifth Paralympic medal in Rio. In four consecutive performances in the finals, the BiH sitting volleyball players won gold in Athens in 2004 and in London in 2012, and silver medals in Sydney in 200 and Beijing in 2008.At the volleyball tournament which begins on September 9, BiH volleyball team will be playing in the B Group with teams of Iran, Russia and China.The BiH team will start the competition with a match against Ukraine on September 10 at 2:30 am Central European Time. Two days later, at the same time they will play against the team of Iran, and on September 14 they will weigh forces with China at 11:30 pm. Semifinals are scheduled for September 16 and finals for September 18.The BiH shot putter Dženita Klico will perform on September 10 in the period from 3 pm until 6 pm, while Dževak Pandžić will perform in the same discipline and in the same time frame on September 16.During the Paralympic Games, the Paralympic Village will accommodate more than 4.350 athletes from 176 countries, together with around 3.000 coaches and other staff.(Source: klix.ba)last_img read more
