DONEGAL U21s REACH ULSTER FINAL WITH BATTLING DISPLAY

first_imgMaxi Curran’s Under 21 Donegal team booked a place in the Ulster Final after a superb battling display against Derry at Healy Park.Goals from Caolan Ward and Odran MacNiallais put daylight between the two sides.Senior star Patrick McBrearty also chipped in with five points to put Donegal into their third final in just four years. Donegal will now face Cavan in the final.Credit to Derry as they battled right until the final whistle and were unlucky to be eventually beaten 2-11 to 0-15.Derry dominated for spells but Donegal came much more into the game in the second half.Indeed had Ryan Bell’s fine effort in the last minute been a few inches lower it could have won the tie for Derry instead of crashing off the Donegal crossbar.
