Rahane though stresses India are not going take West Indies lightly, considering the depth and quality in their squad.”We are really confident about what we did in the last game but we have to be in the present. Cricket s a funny game. We can’t take it lightly, especially when the points system is involved. So we have to give more than 100 percent in each and every Test and each and every session. Hopefully, we can repeat our performance from Antigua,” Ajinkya Rahane said on the eve of the 2nd Test in Jamaica.”West Indies is a positive team. They bat deep and they are a good bowling unit. As I said, we are not going to take them lightly. It’s important to respect them and important to play to our strength. We are focussed on starting off sessions well,” he added.advertisementAjinkya Rahane’s return to form is being seen as one of the biggest positives to have emerged from the Test series so far. The India vice-captain ended his 2-year-long drought for an international hundred when he went past the 3-figure mark in the 2nd innings of the Antigua Test.Rahane got close to scoring a hundred in the first innings but he missed out after getting out for 81. Rahane made it count in the second innings and collected the Man of the Match award for his contribution with the bat.Shedding light on the “special” hundred, Rahane said: “If felt really special for me. I actually got to know how it… what it takes to get a century after 2 years. I was working really hard on my batting. I always think about what I can learn from every game, every practice session so it was really special. I though, wasn’t thinking about any milestones. Because of the team thinking, pressure was completely off.”Hard to see Rohit miss a Test: RahaneMeanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane heaped rich praise on Hanuma Vihari for converting his domestic form into runs at the international level while empathising with Rohit Sharma who was left out of the playing XI in the first Test.Despite being in imperious form in white-ball cricket, Rohit may have to wait a bit longer for another opportunity in Tests as he is unlikely to make the playing XI for the 2nd Test in Jamaica.”Vihari did really well in India A tours and domestic circuit. It’s good to see that a player who has consistently done well at the domestic level is also doing well at the international level. At the same time, Rohit Sharma is a quality player, special player. It’s hard to see him miss a Test match but at the end of the day, it’s all in the team’s perspective,” Rahane added. Also Read | India vs South Africa: MS Dhoni was unavailable for selection, confirms MSK PrasadAlso Read | Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel and Shivam Dube help India A beat South Africa AAlso See:For sports news, updates, live scores and cricket fixtures, log on to Like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter for Sports news, scores and updates.Get real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story?
